Rice with beans

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup rice
  2. 2 big onions
  3. 1/2 kg green beans
  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. 1 tsp cumin

Steps

  1. Wash and soak the rice

     
     
  2. Slice the onions and fry them

     
     
  3. Once the onions turn pinkish, add the green beans and sizzle for a couple of minutes

     
     
  4. Add water and bring to a boil

     
     
  5. Add the salt and cumin and boil till the beans cook

     
     
  6. Once cooked, add the rice, cover with water (two fingers above ingredients) and bring to a boil

     
     
  7. Cover the pot and let it cook for 10 min (till the water evaporates)

     
     
  8. Turn off the fire, add a dash of olive oil, stir
